March 15, 2007 panel from the San Francisco Society for Marketing Professional Services
Sandra Stewart introduces Sallie Goetsch and David Kerr. Cathy Edgerly was unable to attend.

Since the mid-1990s business’ reliance on the Internet has grown exponentially. Google, EBay, and Craigslist didn’t even exist 10 years ago and today virtually every business relies on them to one degree or another.
The design and construction community uses the Web primarily for document transfer and interaction between members of the building team. As marketers, however, we haven’t progressed much beyond websites that are simply online brochures, while other business sectors are exploring new ways of marketing, selling, branding, and growing clients through the Internet.
The March 15 Forum, Working the Net, Netting the Work, will explore how architects, engineers, and contractors can harness the Internet for marketing and business development. Our panel of experts includes:
Cathy Edgerly, a Massachusetts-based marketing consultant focused on the A/E/C community. With a national clientele, Cathy has been heard by SMPS audiences frequently.
David Kerr, a San Francisco-based web designer. David has worked with architects such as David Baker Associates, Michael Willis Architects, and Carey & Co. to enhance their online presence.
Sallie Goetsch, an East Bay communications professional widely recognized as a blog/podcast guru. Her website, the Podcast Asylum, has introduced technophobes throughout the Bay Area to the joys of podcasting.
The panel was moderated by Sandra Stewart, a partner with RealEdit, a business communications and web presence company.

As co-founder of the Podcast Asylum, Author-izer Sallie Goetsch (rhymes with “sketch”) writes and speaks about podcasting from the listener's perspective. She uses podcasting to make connections and attract prospects from around the world and works tirelessly to cure the epidemic of podcastus ignoramus among business owners.
With links, handouts, slides, and sometimes audio recordings.
All the Asylum’s podcasting ‘professors’ love to evangelize about podcasting. We offer reduced rates for non-profit groups, but travel expenses are a minimum requirement.
